This past weekend, Josh Gottheimer joined labor leaders, union members, seniors, veterans, first responders, families, and local business owners at community events across the Fifth District.
On Saturday, September 22, Gottheimer started off the day meeting Bergen County Central Trades and Labor Council President Mike Schneider and other local labor leaders at the IBEW Local 164 Meeting Hall for a Labor Walk around Paramus. During these walks, volunteers and candidates go door-to-door to remind residents to get out and vote for candidates who will fight for New Jersey workers.
After the Labor Walk, Gottheimer visited the Duck Pond in Demarest to join families, local business leaders, and first responders at Demarest Day 2018.
Gottheimer then headed to Bergenfield to join more than 100 veterans, first responders, families, and kids at the Bergenfield VFW Pig Roast.
Finally, to wrap up the day, Gottheimer headed to Wyckoff to celebrate Greek culture and eat delicious Greek fare at the annual Greek Festival hosted by Wyckoff’s St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
On Sunday, September 23, 2018, Gottheimer spent the afternoon in Sussex County at the Sussex County Democratic Committees’ (SCDC) 2018 Potluck Picnic. There Gottheimer joined U.S. Congressman Derek Kilmer, congressional candidate Mikie Sherrill, SCDC Chairperson Leslie Huhn, and Sussex County families, first responders, seniors, and children for an afternoon of food and fun.
“I had a blast this weekend going all over the Fifth District to spend time with Jersey families, seniors, veterans, first responders, and kids. One of my favorite things about Jersey is how passionate we are about supporting and getting involved in our community, and, this weekend, that passion was on clear display,” said Josh Gottheimer. “Thank you to everyone who spent their nights and weekends working tirelessly to put on these community events. The work’s not easy, and I am so grateful.”
