WYCKOFF, N.J. — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) announced today that he has received the endorsement of Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for his leadership on gun violence prevention and commitment to strengthening commonsense gun safety laws to keep families and communities safe. Everytown for Gun Safety, along with its grassroots networks, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country with nearly ten million supporters.

“Rep. Josh Gottheimer is a strong leader in the fight to keep our communities and schools safe from gun violence and has committed that if re-elected he will continue to govern with gun safety in mind,” said Shannon Watts, gun violence prevention advocate and founder of Moms Demand Action.

“I’m honored to have the backing of Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action and am proud to be fighting alongside its ten million supporters to put an end to the crisis of senseless and preventable gun violence that has plagued our nation for far too long,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “In June, we made effective, commonsense progress to help save lives, but there is clearly still more progress to be made. I stand with all Americans who are deeply frustrated by the lack of action in Washington when there are additional practical solutions that exist to save lives and make our schools, homes, and communities safer. Commonsense gun and school safety shouldn’t be a partisan issue. We must build on our recent action in Congress and make solving this crisis a top priority.”
