GENERAL WESLEY CLARK TO CHAIR “VETERANS FOR JOSH”

WYCKOFF, N.J. – Today, United States Congressman Josh Gottheimer announced that U.S. Army General (ret.) Wesley Clark will serve as the honorary Chair of “Veterans for Josh.” This announcement follows a virtual conversation held last week between Congressman Gottheimer and veterans from across the Fifth District, as part of a new “Veterans for Josh” group. The discussion focused on issues facing the North Jersey veteran community, including transitioning from service to the private sector, incentivizing the hiring of veterans, and supporting veteran-owned businesses.

“General Clark is not only one of the most distinguished soldiers and leaders in our country, but he is a dear friend, and mentor. I am humbled to have his support and to have him serve as the honorary Chair of ‘Veterans for Josh.’ Having the support of veterans and the former Supreme Allied Commander is particularly meaningful. As I say wherever I go in the Fifth District, we must always have the backs of those who got ours. Under General Clark’s leadership, I know we will continue to ensure that veterans and their families who sacrificed so much for us will have their voices heard and their needs met,” said Congressman Gottheimer.

“Since taking office, Josh Gottheimer has been a forceful advocate for veterans. In Washington, he fights to make sure our heroes and their families get the benefits they have so-rightfully earned. In New Jersey, he always stands up for our heroes, most recently demanding answers and accountability at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Paramus. We must do everything we can to keep Josh in Congress, and I am proud to be serving as honorary chair of ‘Veterans for Josh’” said U.S. Army General (ret.) Wesley Clark.
