Bergen County PBA, Rep. Gottheimer raising funds for Harvey victims
The Bergen County Police Benevolent Association, along with Rep. Josh Gottheimer, is collecting donations to make sure that first responders in Texas and victims of the storm have everything they need to begin the rebuilding process.
While the money raised will help with short-term recovery efforts, Rep. Gottheimer, who is headed back to Washington, D.C., says he plans to keep recovery funds flowing to people in need, saying it is the most pressing issue facing congress right now.
“There are resources there, and now we have to allocate them for Texas to deal with Harvey relief and to me there’s no question that at the end of this week we have to make sure we get the funds starting to get down to Texas to start helping people recover and rebuilding their lives,” Gottheimer said.
